DonorNation is a philanthropic marketplace that brings together local businesses and individuals to buy and sell products, services and gently used items with 10-100% of the proceeds supporting local K-12 schools.

When a school participates, it is given a DonorNation marketplace page FREE of charge. The school promotes its marketplace to its parent community, encouraging them to shop, sell and give back.

Similarly, businesses are invited to sell their products and services through a customizable digital storefront, which is given to businesses FREE of charge. The sellers set the price for their items and/or services and specify the percentage they want to donate to a school (minimum 10%).

When a transaction takes place, the buyer chooses what school they want the donation to go to, and it is immediately sent to the school via PayPal. The seller receives their portion of the transaction through PayPal at the same time, in addition to a tax receipt for the amount of their donation.

There is no upfront cost to use DonorNation. Only when sales take place are fees incurred. DonorNation receives a 6% transaction fee as the provider of the marketplace.

When a product sells for $10 and 10% of the proceeds were designated as donation, at the point of purchase, PalPal will send $0.60 to DonorNation (6% of $10), $0.94 to the school selected (10% of $9.40) and the balance $8.46 (less a PayPal fee), will be sent to the merchant. All transactions are transparent and instantaneous, confirmed seconds later on a PayPal receipt.

Absolutely! As soon as a transaction is completed, you will receive a notification from PayPal informing you of a) the purchase, b) the transfer of your share of the funds from the buyer’s account to your PayPal account, and c) based on the percentage of the transaction that you had designated for the local school, the transfer of those funds to the PTA. In addition, you'll also receive a tax receipt from DonorNation. The entire transaction is in real time and 100% transparent.

Start by doing a site search to see if your school is registered. If it is, then you can either donate an item or service to benefit your school, or purchase something that’s already listed in its school marketplace. If your child’s school is not registered, please encourage a PTA member to claim their page, or contact us and we will reach out to them for you.

Once your school is registered with DonorNation, it will receive its very own customized landing page. Here you will be able to upload your logo and define your foundation’s mission statement and fundraising goal. Once your school's marketplace goes live, you can promote the site to your parent community and invite them to join, buy and sell. You will receive 10% to 100% of every transaction a buyer directs to your school, less transaction fees.

Once your business is registered with DonorNation, it will receive its very own customizable “storefront”. Here you will have the opportunity to upload your logo and enter a description. You will also be able to upload products and services for sale. Once your customized business page goes live, you will benefit from sales, goodwill and customer loyalty!

Once you join DonorNation, you will have the opportunity to upload gently used items for sale, or buy products or services from other individuals or businesses. As a seller, you will have the ability to identify the price of the item, as well as the amount you want to donate to a school (10%-100%). You can direct the donation to a school of your choice, or let the buyer decide. As a buyer, you will have the ability to direct the allocated donation to a school of your choice if purchasing from a business. If you are buying from an individual, you may or may not be able to direct the donation, but you can take solace in the fact that you are donating to a school nevertheless!
